It has been a great honor and privilege to be invited to offer our services in the beautification for the Tapovan Garden project through the coordination of Mrs. Wangmo Dixey and the sponsorship of her father, Venerable Tarthang Tulku. It has been a tremendous honor and great privilege to be of service to the historical Mahabodhi Mahavihara temple and to be able to make an offering of these sacred plaques for the benefit of all beings. We have worked on this project for more than a year and feel that by the end of February 2017 we should have all the plaques completed along with the beginning of the next phase of the work which will be the beautification of the garden by expert American land scape artists and with a completion date of pathway by May 2017.
The first step took place almost a year ago with the production of black granite plaques which have the historical the Prajnaparamita sutras in Devangari, English and Tibetan. This took months of great dedication by a team of experts in America who worked through historical texts and made into pdf files for the artists to make as final engravings in black granite for what we pray will be lasting for more than 100 years! At the same time, LBDFI-India has also engaged a world class landscape architecture firm, Greenworks Design of San Francisco, California to help with the project design. The files for the entire landscape proposal which required much professional time to review and design will be ready for execution after the pathway is completed. We intend to bring plants back from the historical Pali Canon, or Buddhist scriptures with plaques with dedicated Buddhist sayings for all to enjoy.
We will be working in the coming years to create a beautiful world class garden for all pilgrims from around the world to enjoy. If you would like to get involved, please do inbox us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
