Sri Lanka
Our relationship with the Sri Lanka monks and temples began in Bodhgaya. LBDFI began to sponsor the air tickets and accommodations for 15 monks to attend the International Tipitaka Chanting ceremony in 2007, and has continued every year since that date.
In 2012, the ITCC authorized a second Tipitaka Chanting ceremony in Sri Lanka, which was held at the Anuradhapura Bodhi Tree with 100 Venerable monks and 100 people. In 2013,
We were accorded the great honor of holding the ceremony at the Tooth Relic Temple, the first time a chanting ceremony had ever been held in this most important location. From 2013-2015,
we held three days of the recitation of the Tipitaka in the Sacred grounds of
the Tooth Relic. LBDFI sponsored the free distribution of the Majjima Nikaya and offered the gold-leafing of two statues at the Tooth Relic temple.
